MODALITIES OF TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE
What We Can Do For You
A staple in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture is an art form. Using very thin and sterile needles to stimulate points on the meridians of the body, practitioners meticulously choose the most beneficial points to stimulate case by case. By inserting a foreign object into the body, we stimulate the nervous system, drawing oxygen, red and white blood cells to the area, in order to generate a therapeutic effect.
Esoteric Acupuncture defines a “way of life.” This way of life emphasizes the awakening and expansion of our spiritual center. The emphasis of Esoteric Acupuncture is on spiritual awakening and centering all levels of the heart. To address the most fundamental level of imbalance, we must go to the heart. By aligning the various levels of the heart, we will be strengthening the spiritual center which will assist in various levels of awakening. We use a pendulum, the chakra system, sacred geometry, the organ spirits, and guided meditation we tap into this beautiful method of healing. This is meant for the seekers.
The formulas in Chinese medicine are not mere collections of medicinal substances in which the actions of one herb are simply added to those is another in a cumulative fashion. They are complex recipes of interrelated substances, each of which affects the actions of those in the formula. It is this complex interaction which makes the formulas so effective.
Practitioners use these glass cups to create a suction effect. By placing them on the skin we separate the skin from the muscle layer, which creates a vacuum-like effect drawing blood and oxygen to the area to reduce both stagnation and inflammation.
Gua sha is defined as instrument-assisted unidirectional press-stroking of a lubricated area of the body surface to intentionally create transitory therapeutic petechiae. Modern research shows the transitory therapeutic petechiae produce an anti inflammatory and immune protective effect that persists for days following a single Gua sha treatment accounting for the immediate relief that patients feel from pain, stiffness, fever, chill, cough, wheeze, nausea and vomiting etc.
